The liveaboard Okeanos Aggressor is famous among divers for its comfortable rooms and great services. Cocos Island, located 342 miles off Costa Rica’s coast, is one of the most sought after diving destination in the world. The towering pinnacles of Cocos lure big animals and the thrill they bring. Surround yourself in schools of hammerheads, white-tipped sharks, mantas or even whale sharks as they all hail from the hometown of Cocos Island.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The liveaboard Okeanos Aggressor I was refurbished in 2014 with every detail designed to make your dive adventure unforgettable. When not exploring the hidden corners of the exotic islands, the goal of the Okeanos Aggressor I liveaboard is to provide outstanding service and onboard pleasures. 2 motorised dive tenders – Dive deck with toilet, camera table and rinse tank – Main deck air-conditioned saloon with TV, video player, music system, movie library, books, magazines and satellite telephone – Computer, internet, photo and video editing facilities – Dedicated restaurant and bar – Sundeck and shaded area with sun chairs

Divers have a choice of 3 types of cabins on board,  liveaboard Okeanos Aggressor I has 10 cabins, all with private en-suite bathrooms. There are 9 Deluxe cabins. 3 Deluxe cabins are located on the upper deck and 2 on the lower deck, these liveaboard cabins each have a double bed and a single top bunk bed (for twin share). 4 Deluxe cabins with twin bunk beds are also located on the lower deck. A quad cabin (with two double beds, each with a single top bunk bed) is located in the bow of the lower deck.

OKEANOS AGGRESSOR DELVES INTO THE SECRETS OF COCOS, CAÑOS OR BAT ISLANDS

Prepare to be amazed by the large pelagics of the Cocos; hammerheads, rays, turtles, mantas and schools of enormous fish, the Bull sharks at Bat Island and even sometimes manatees around Caños Island. Don’t be surprised if while you are enraptured with the colorful corals and micro marine life, you are suddenly dwarfed by the shadow of a mighty whale shark.

MULTIPLE SPECIES OF LARGE WHALES AND SHARKS ARE COMMON AROUND THIS MAGICAL AND TRULY WILD ISLANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACIFIC

The volcanic rock bottom is between 50 and 100 ft below the surface, with a visibility range of 80 to 100 feet. Dives from the liveaboard are taken from the 22 ft pangas (tender). Every panga is equipped with a divemaster and crew that will assist you in the easy transition from boat to water. Cameras and equipment will be handled with care. Diving in these islands is for advanced divers because of the strong currents.

THE CREW OF THE LIVEABOARD OKEANOS AGGRESSOR I WITH THEIR UNIQUE COMBINATION OF TALENTS OFFERS THE ULTIMATE SERVICE

While on board you may pick a buddy of your choice or dive with a crewmember. There is ample storage space for your diving equipment in your personal locker. There are a limited number of 15-liter tanks available. With advanced notice, these can be rented from another operation. The liveaboard’s pangas are 22 feet in length. There is ample space for camera equipment and the panga tender will handle it with care. Getting you in and out of the water from the pangas is easy. Once your dive is completed and you’re preparing to get back in the panga, a crewmember will assist and help take your tank. There is a divemaster on each panga for every single dive. Guests will be provided free of charge a GPS locator that operates 8 through satellite in case of an emergency, it sends an SMS to the liveaboard Okeanos local office with coordinate and to the rescue coordination center with a web link to your location.  Most divers use a 5mm wetsuit with booties and a hood.

Food on Board

The menu onboard both yachts is varied and plentiful, with a variety of American feasts, barbecues and local cuisine. If you have any special dietary requirements, please advise the US office as soon as possible so the yacht can adequately prepare to meet your needs. You will wake up to fresh fruits, hot entrees, cereals and juices. Lunches are buffet-style, featuring hot soups, homemade breads, salads and sandwiches and/or entrees. Dinners are chef prepared and served each evening and include salads, vegetables, seafood, beef or chicken with a fresh homemade dessert. Once onboard, please speak to the chef about any special needs. Certain special dietary and beverage requests may not be available due to the remote nature of this location.

HOW TO GET THERE

Your dive vacation begins when you arrive in San Jose, Cost Rica via almost any major airline. You are asked to spend the night in San Jose to be ready for pick-up on the next day. It is recommended that you stay at the Holiday Inn Escasu or the Holiday Inn Express in San Jose because these are the only two hotels from which the transfer bus picks you up. On departure day, you will take a two-hour, scenic, air conditioned bus ride to Puntarenas where the liveaboard Okeanos Aggressor I is moored. Transportation is provided back to the host hotels or San Jose (SJO) airport from the liveaboard yacht at the end of the charter. Book your flights for after 12:30 pm.
